With years of experience in color photography, sculpture, light projection and video, Jacob continually augments his prolific collection of photography and video footage to inspire his audience to a state of wonder.

McKean’s work gives us a fresh perspective on the beauty of nature.  From his experiences of climbing the mountains of Africa, to his journeys through the jungles of Peru, Jacob honors the processes involved in creating a series of work dedicated to the Natural world and the various cultures that surround it.

McKean's expertise in technology has given him an edge in creating a unique perspective that is immediately recognizable. Using custom-made full circle fish-eye lenses in both still and video Imagery since the early 1990’s, extreme wide angle Lens' create an immersive experience that is both memorable and realistic. This concept plays within McKean's work as different perspectives, or lenses, open people up to a broader view of any setting captured.

Jacob's work continues to elaborate on thematic series of imagery. Whether traveling to a festival, a Safari, alone in a desert, or through a crowded rave, McKean's essence is to capture and document his surroundings, the true ambience of any given situation. McKean's work is instantly recognizable due to this unique perspective. His life’s work represents a compelling story, weaving travels within nature and the subcultures in our country.

Part of Jacob's dedication in his multi media events is to present this unique imagery using the latest technology. Mckean uses various formats such as printing still images in large scale onto a variety of Silks and other materials, while integrating images and video as a source into live digital mixing for LCD Projections. This imagery can then be seen moving on stationary 3D surfaces, providing a new view for any eye.
